Biography:

Minah Harun is Senior Lecturer at the Applied Linguistics Unit, School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy (SLCP), College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She is a life member of Malaysian Association of Applied Linguistics (MAAL; affiliate of the International Association of Applied Linguistics; AILA), Malaysian Association of Communication Educators (MACE), Editors Association Malaysia (PEM) and UUM Academics Association (PERSATU). Previously, she was UUM Press Director and UUM Language Centre Director. Prior to that, she was the Head of English language (Ketua Panitia Bahasa Inggeris) at the secondary school in Melaka and the coordinator of English language course(s) at the language department, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She also attended a twoyear Malaysian Matriculation Course at Hilderstone College, Broadstairs, Kent, England (UK) (1984-1986). She has also presented papers in local and international conferences and has been appointed as a guest speaker and journal article reviewer. Her publication works include Hospitality language as a professional skill and intercultural communication. Her current research interests include student leadership, hospitality language, English language teaching and learning, interpersonal communication, interethnic, intercultural communication, language and communication, discourse analysis, learner difficulties, language of peace and language of leadership. Currently, she is a member of several committees: research, publication and consultation committees (SLCP), CQI, ICEP and Micro-Credentials Committees (AEDU UUM) and MAAL International Conference Committee (MAALIC2021).
