Biography:

Norma Saad is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at the School of Languages, Civilisation and Philosophy, College of Arts and Sciences, Universiti Utara Malaysia. She obtained her MA in Applied Linguistics from Durham University, UK and her PhD in Applied Linguistics from Universiti Utara Malaysia. She has taught English courses at higher education for almost 30 years. Her research interests are pragmatics particularly studies on Speech Acts and Linguistic Politeness.
